For the first time, I feel absolutely no need to justify how I've been so swept away by my life that I haven't had time to remember the rest of the world. Haircuts, late bills, acquaintances' birthdays, and old laundry all seem so silly compared to the amazing tempest that is raising a blooming two-year-old. Over the last few months, his babbling has formed full sentences, songs, new words, jokes, and painfully heart-melting phrases (the first time he kissed me goodnight and said, "I lohs you, mama" without me saying it first I actually wept a bit!). His humor, pleasure at jumping out and scaring people, and eagerness to help with every lovely chore have all grown so much, and continue to evolve and change and manifest in new ways.
It's been a while since I've been in this space (or found the space in my own head to really mull things over); it's so difficult for me to put into words the last few months of our lives. Maybe I'll ask Gabriel what he has to say?
